I received an invitation this morning in regards to this conference on web accessibility for the blind in Malaysia. it says that blind people are in danger of being left behind due to many obstacles placed in their path. the conference organized by National Council for The Blind Malaysia, will be held at the Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital this 3 and 4 April. interestingly, one of the speaker will be from W3C. this conference reminds on a situation a while ago, while I was working with Streamyx, when I have a blind customer requesting me to assist/guide him to troubleshoot the internet connection via phone! interestingly this person have the facility to guide him accessing the computer and the internet. I was surprised and amazed at that moment, and I do thought of these people being left behind, at least majority of them. because I know not all of them having this facility at home, especially as stressed by this conference in the making, they have less accessibility to the web.
