blogger vs MT vs EE
Tags: blogging, review, wordpress
when i first write a blog, i choose blogger.com to store everything, and perhaps because i dont know any other service like wordpress, MT etc.. all i know was just xanga and blogger. in comparison at that time, i definitely dont like xanga because of their features. i prefer a clean stuff, and xanga look so messy unless you pay for upgrades (looking for free stuff at that moment ). then i dont remember when i started to use xfresh blog service.. and after tired of dealing with their “baby-blog-service”, then i change back to blogger.
it was last january when i bought my own domain (paincells.com) and decided to use blogger. seriously i dont know any other blog service but wordpress, but i totally dont like it. so i keep with my blogger. and yet i started to hear about movable type. so i tried to install it into my server, and seriously it’s real hard to install MT.. the manual documentation by sixapart is just not so clear.. god knows how i hope they can provide a clear, and complete documentation in single page. i noticed that i have to read a lot, yet the installation process is actually so easy.. most people were confused with their documentation. they have to agree with that.
and yes, i managed to download MT3.2 on my server, and i’m totally satisfied with the system.. though it cost me a lot of trial (not to say how many) during the installation process..
and there’s something new to me, and it’s about ExpressionEngine. another system for blog.. yet another free stuff, a good one. i was satisfied with MT last week after i managed to download it, and today i found about EE, and seroiusly it dont cost my time to install it.. and yet the feature is, i think, much more better than MT..
you doubt? have a search on google, and have a look at it.
but as i planned, i will now use EE for my blog, i’d like to call it Paincells | iblog v2.0, while MT, i’ll use it for my photoblog
ah, the photoblog is yet, not ready.. it will take me sometimes to develope my own template.. remember i’m using MT and not pixelpost, so i really have to develope it.
take a look of my MT test page, http://i.paincells.com
and my EE test page, http://paincells.com/iblog

Or you could try Wordpress with our patented 5 minute instalation procedure. It’s so fast. It’s so flexible. And you can import all your old Blogger posts in a snap. You’ll think it’s too good to be true.

i am considering wordpress as well, and actually i’ve downloaded it once like 2 months ago, and did import all my blogger entries, but i was confused when i want to deal with the template/layout.

The template and layout gets some getting used to since it does contain PHP in it. But in truth the core template replies on XHTML and CSS which by far everyone wanting to design a layout should know. There is also a very very very large support community for Wordpress and plenty of tutorials out there for you to work on if you feel lost in your current design. With that much to choose from, the problem would more likely be…well…that you got so much to choose from.

css, php, html is not a problem to me, but it’s just that, i dont know how to edit from wordpress.. i was confused with their template field.. and i dont even know how to put my adsense script on it.. anyway thanks for ya idea for wordpress.. i’ll install it again, and this time i really will make a big comparison between the three, WP, EE and MT
